A group of suspected 6-7 radical Islamists have attacked an Eid Congregation at Sholakia Eid gah in Kishoreganj area of Bangladesh.
According to unconfirmed reports, attackers hurled several crude homemade bombs at a group of police officers, killing four people instantly, while injuring several others. After hurling the bomb, the attackers attacked the police officials with machetes, to which Police retaliated by returning gunfire.
The attack reportedly happened while while Eid prayer meeting was going on and over 30,000 people were present in the area.
Bangladesh information minister said the target of the attack was a police convoy patrolling the religious gathering.

The latest attack comes just days after the country suffered one of its worse hostage crisis situation, in which 22 people, including 20 international hostages were killed. Till last report, one attacker had been gunned down while one was captured alive by the Bangladesh security forces.
