Countries Keep Banning Bollywood Movies. Another One Joins The Club

Earlier this week, local producers and distributors filed a petition with the Lahore High Court to ban the screening of Bollywood movies in Pakistan. The petition states that not only is the screening of Indian movies against the law as per the Motion Pictures Ordinance of 1979, the gratuitous violence shown in Indian movies promotes lawlessness and violence in the country.

Hmm, I don’t know about violence, but I’m pretty sure Bollywood movies promote stupidity. I’d even go so far as to say they mandate it!

In 1985, they wanted us to believe Mithun’s brain could be frozen (in a microwave, no less) and then be transplanted into someone else’s head. As recently as 2012, they wanted us to believe Akshay Kumar’s brain tumor would implode if some water didn’t fall on his head. I mean, COME ON!

I, for one, totally support this petition. Not the part where they say it’s illegal or whatever.

But I am convinced nothing good can come from watching Bollywood movies. If I were to petition the courts to ban Bollywood movies, I’d cite rampant stupidity as the reason. It’s gotta be stopped, this horseshit Bollywood keeps peddling. It’s stupid and it promotes all manner of evil.

I think we should take a leaf out of Pakistan’s book and ban Bollywood movies, too!

I’m fairly certain if Bollywood made better movies, it wouldn’t rub so many people the wrong way. It’s just a thought.
