The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was quick to condemn Khan’s remarks and demanded former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mulayam Singh to initiate stern action against him.

Taking on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, UP BJP chief Keshav Prasad Maurya alleged that only the former takes Khan seriously, adding it is unfortunate that people, who even can’t govern a district, are part of the state government.

Maurya said a person, who passes such lewd comments on such a shameful and painful event, can exist only in Akhilesh Yadav’s Cabinet.

Maurya further said the Samajwadi Party leader’s statement has hurt the people of Uttar Pradesh and let down the state before the world.

On July 29 night, a group of bandits had waylaid a family, dragged a woman and her 13-year-old daughter out of their car, took them to a nearby field and raped them while the male members of the family were tied with ropes. The family was travelling from Noida to Shahjahanpur when the incident occurred in Bulandshahr on NH-91.
