Counting for the assembly polls in four states began on May 19 with exit polls appearing to be bang on in their predictions.

While Mamata Banerjee-led TMC surged ahead of the Left-Congress alliance in West Bengal, BJP seemed to be making an entry in Assam for the very first time.

Meanwhile in Tamil Nadu AIADMK appears to be going for a second innings as it was leading in 110 seats out of 191 seats in early trends.

In Kerala, the LDF was leading in 84 seats while already having won one; their rivals UDF were ahead in 48 seats.

Puducherry seems to be the only saving grace for Congress and left parties as Congress leads in 10 seats and have already won 5. AINRC is leading in 9 while having won just 2 seats so far.
