40-year-old Lt Col T Jadhav, working as an anaesthetist at the Mathura military hospital, was in love with lieutenant, a nursing assistant at the hospital. While Jadhav hailed from Maharashtra, the junior officer was from Dehradun.
Surprisingly, Jadhav was already married and was father of two. According to the police, the duo had been in the relation for some time now.
After a hard struggle, the woman officer managed to flee, the police said. Miffed over this, Lt Col Jadhav then locked himself in the car and injected what appears to be a poisonous substance into his thigh. The Army officer reportedly died after the incident.
After the Army got information about the incident, Jadhav’s body was brought to the military hospital by service personnel, following which an autopsy was conducted by Army authorities. The civil police was informed of the matter and the police are now examining the details of the autopsy.
Police are examining the case from all angles and are trying to get into the exact sequence of events. According to police, there were no witnesses when Jadhav died.
