A Love Story Gone Wrong: Army Officer Tries To Strangle Junior Officer He Loved, Kills Self

It was a love story that went horribly wrong. A lieutenant colonel in the Army attempted to strangulate his junior, a lieutenant with who he was having an affair, and then committed suicide by injecting himself with a toxic substance.

40-year-old Lt Col T Jadhav, working as an anaesthetist at the Mathura military hospital, was in love with lieutenant, a nursing assistant at the hospital. While Jadhav hailed from Maharashtra, the junior officer was from Dehradun.

Surprisingly, Jadhav was already married and was father of two. According to the police, the duo had been in the relation for some time now.

In an FIR filed by the junior officer, she alleged that Lt Col Jadhav asked her to join him in a suicide pact. However, when she asked for the reason, he attempted to strangle her.

After a hard struggle, the woman officer managed to flee, the police said. Miffed over this, Lt Col Jadhav then locked himself in the car and injected what appears to be a poisonous substance into his thigh. The Army officer reportedly died after the incident.

After the Army got information about the incident, Jadhav’s body was brought to the military hospital by service personnel, following which an autopsy was conducted by Army authorities. The civil police was informed of the matter and the police are now examining the details of the autopsy.

However, Jadhav’s family has alleged that a conspiracy and said that Jadhav was murdered. They have even filed a written complaint.

Police are examining the case from all angles and are trying to get into the exact sequence of events. According to police, there were no witnesses when Jadhav died.
