According to ToI reports, after donating to the army and farmers, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is now set to adopt a village in Maharastra, so as to help the farmers who have been hit by drought and famine.

Akshay is said to have adopted a village in Yavatmal district of Maharastra, which is about 30 km away from the main city.

The proposal for same was signed by District Collector Sachindra Pratap Singh on November 5, which was in response to the instruction received by him from the state government.

The Maharastra state government had asked all the District Administrators to suggest the name of a village which has maximum number of farmers’ suicide, so as to help them in their time of need.

According to Singh, Akshay had recently called Maharastra’s Finance Minister Sudheer Mungantiwar to have a dialogue, where the minister had told him about the woes of farmers in Yavatmal.
