SP party secretary Amar Singh scroll
After banishing from the party for nearly seven years, he has again resurfaced in the Uttar Pradesh political arena and proved that he is the master of “divide and rule” policy. However, his return and involvement in UP politics has hatched a feud between the Yadavs.
According to Amar Singh, he may not be with chief minister Akhilesh Yadav but he will always be with Mulayam Singh Yadav’s son Akhilesh. He also feels if problems in Yadav family get solved with his bali (sacrifice) then he should be sacrificed.
Shortly after the 2009 Lok Sabha election result, Amar’s relationship with many party leaders worsened eventually leading to his ouster from SP for six years. He resigned from all party posts, including that of the national general secretary, in January 2010. However, SP supremo Mulayam Singh’s love for his never faded out and after 2014 Lok Sabha elections, he was back with Mulayam.
According to Mulayam, Amar has been with the leader through his most trying times. Amar was instrumental in mediating between the Congress and the SP and played a key role in the SP’s support to the UPA governments.
