Depression Forced The Man Behind Comic Twitter Account @AapChutiyeHain To Commit Suicide

If you are a regular on Twitter and follow those satire twitter handles, you probably know about @AapChutiyeHain. This is how it describes itself:

But the sad news is that the funny man behind this handle is no more. He committed suicide because he was suffering from depression.

Akhil Mehta (27) went missing from Vijay Nagar in the Mukherjee Nagar police station area of North Delhi on the evening of March 27, the Times of India reported on April 12.

Police say that Akhil committed suicide by jumping from a water tank in Tronica City area. Since no one in the area knew him, Akhil was cremated as an unidentified man on March 31 with no FIR lodged.

It was only after a few days that his family and friends, who were looking for him, identified Akhil from photos of his body taken by the police before he was cremated.

A bright alumnus of BITS, Goa, Akhil held a Masters degree in Economics and became a Microsoft Certified System Engineer at a record age of 13.

Depression is a mental state characterized by pessimistic thoughts which needs special care and treatment. Depression claims a high number of victims annually around the world. It is painful to learn that such a genuinely gifted comedian left us at such a young age.

RIP Akhil Mehta.
