Indian Cricketer Ajinkya Rahane Asks For A Biopic Too; Wants Aamir To Act In It

Indian cricketer Ajinkya Rahane, who is playing for the Rising Pune Supergiants in the IPL this year, is not a much talked about cricketer. He is considered a shy player on and off the field. But in an interview, he opened up and talked about his interest apart from cricket. He said that Bollywood is something that interests him after cricket.

“When I am not playing, I like to stay indoors and watch Bollywood films. I am a big fan of Aamir Khan. He has done some fantastic work over the years,” says the 27-year-old, who is looking forward to watching two of his loves come together — Bollywood and cricket, in the form of biopics on cricketers Mohammad Azharuddin, Sachin Tendulkar and MS. Dhoni. “All the films look exciting. I can’t really choose which trailer I liked the most (laughs). I liked them all, and if I find some time, I will definitely watch them all.

He looked excited about the biopics that are on the way and has watched their curiosity-raising trailers. The reporter asked if he would like a biopic on himself, his answer was a big Yes. Of course, who will ever think of saying No to that?

Yes, I guess it will be nice.” And goes on to add, “He (Aamir) is my favourite actor and I would love him to reprise my role in the film.

The cricketer talked further about his better half who is his childhood friend. They both tied the knot in 2014. He expressed how his wife has made his life better.

She understands me well and my dedication to the sport. Whenever I am playing a match — for IPL or for the Indian team, she always makes sure that cricket is the only thing I focus on. She respects the passion I have for the sport. I think her support has made me a better human being as well.

So Bollywood filmmakers just got another story. Ajinkya has dropped a straight forward hint. Let’s see who is going to pick this up. All will depend on the three cricket legends’ biopics that are yet to release. If they give big hits at the box office then we can hope that any director will pick Ajinkya’s story for his film.
