Days after scientists predicted that a major earthquake will hit the western part of Nepal and India, a 6.2 magnitude quake rocked Afghanistan. Tremors were felt in New Delhi as well.

The epicentre of the earthquake was 34km west-southwest of Ashkasham in Afghanistan’s Hindukush region. The depth of the quake, according to USGS, was 223.1 km.
No reports of loss of life or damage to property has arrived so far.
This is the third major earthquake to have been recorded in the last 12 hours. An earthquake measuring 3.3 on the Richter Scale struck San Francisco at around 1:30 AM IST, while a quake measuring 6.6 struck off the coast of Solomon Islands just six hours ago.
