Haryana has now launched a 24-hour helpline – 8284030455 – so that people can report incidents of cow smuggling or slaughter.

The information will then be relayed to police officials posted in the area who will then send a special team set up for the purpose.

To further strengthen the initiative, Haryana DGP K.P. Singh has setup barricades that would keep a check on cow smuggling.

The initiative has been set up after a video surfaced on social media where two men were being forced to eat a cow dung concoction by members of ‘Gau Rakshak Dal’ volunteers, after they were allegedly caught with beef in their possession.
